 ROUND TWO - Live

  1. Finalist’s registration form together with $50 entry fee must be postmarked by October 31, 2008. If a finalist withdraws, alternates will be contacted in order of their ranking to compete.
     

  2. The live competition will be held January 10, 2009, at the Arvada Center, Arvada, Colorado.
     

  3. Finalists may play a different piece from the one submitted in round one. See Rule 3 on the Rules page. (Contact us if you are in doubt – yac@jeffersonsymphonyorchestra.org.)
     

  4. Finalists MUST perform with an accompanist and must provide a complete score for the judges. Finalists are encouraged to bring their own accompanists, but a list of local accompanists will be provided upon request. Any local accompanist chosen must be from the approved list. The Young Artists Competition will pay $250 towards each accompanist’s fee.
     

  5. Three judges (not otherwise affiliated with the Jefferson Symphony and differing from those judging the first round) will select the First, Second and Third Place winners. Judges’ decisions are final.
     

  6. Finalists and their teachers will receive judges’ written comments.
     

  7. Winners will be announced immediately following the completion of the live competition.
     

  8. The first three award winners and their accompanists will present a public recital on the evening of the competition, January 10, 2009. The cash awards will be presented at the Jefferson Symphony Young Artists Concert, March 22, 2009.
